New versions of the browser are also automatically installed when they are available. With these, you might sometimes notice your browser looks different when you open it. this is because of upgrades being installed while you were browsing the web. Normally updates happen in the background when you close and reopen your computer’s browser. However, if you haven’t closed your browser in a while these updates won’t apply and will be in pending states. To update your Google Chrome browser, follow the steps below:

Logon your computer and open Chrome. At the top right, look at More . If an update is pending, the icon will be colored: Green: An update’s been available for 2 days. Orange: An update’s been available for 4 days. Red: An update’s been available for 7 days.

To update Google Chrome:

While you’re logged on to your computer, open Google Chrome. At the top right, click More . Click Update Google Chrome. If you don’t see this button, you’re on the latest version. Click Relaunch.

If you don’t see the Update Google Chrome button when you click More and you’re not on the latest, go to Help –> About Google Chrome. When you open the about Google Chrome page and there are updates available, they should automatically begin to download and install. After a brief moment, you’ll be prompted to relaunch. The browser saves your opened tabs and windows and reopens them automatically when it restarts. I do not want to restart right away, click Not now. The next time you restart your browser, the update will be applied. That’s it! This is how one updates the Google Chrome browser to the latest versions.
